Trees suitable for containers

Postby lizweston » 06 Apr 2011 13:55

Does anyone have a suggestion for a tree for my one metre square container now that my cordyline australis of 30 years has bitten the dust from the severe frosts. I would like to replace it with something hardy, eventual height 10 to 15 feet, not too slow growing and some winter feature, although it doesn't have to be evergreen. I live near the coast and we don't as a rule have hard winters, but I have no idea what would be suitable.

Hello Liz,

Use our plant finder for some suggestions:

http://www.plantadvice.co.uk/plants/plant_search.php

In the plant type field select trees, in the plant features field select suitable for growing in containers. Also make sure you tick hardy.
