Everygreen ground cover

Postby winstonmin » 15 Nov 2009 22:37

I have a garden that slopes down to the paved area, with slow drainage, and in heavy rains (as recently) the soil leaches down on to the paving. The only thing I can think of to do is to put plants next to the paving which will hold the soil back. Can you suggest what plants would be best. They would need to be close growing, everygreen, low growing and in shade (my garden is north facing). And it would be nice if there could be some colour in the leaves or flowers.

Is this a tall order? I would be very grateful for some advice.

Hello Winstonmen,

Here are some suitable plants for you to choose from, click on the links:

You could also use close relatives of any of the above, i.e. different cultivars.

Let me know if you need any further help.
