Hi there. Ive inherited a greenhouse originally bought from http://www.hartley-botanic.co.uk with my new home and im thinking of starting out in gardening. ive grown peppers and chillis on my windowsill and wondering how much more difficult greenhouse management can be. are there any simple fruits or veggies i can grow without occuring the wrath of pests or other nastices.

thanks - be gentle im just starting out.

Hello,

For a novice greenhouse gardener I would recommend starting with strawberries (you will get earlier crops under glass), tomatoes and melons. If you have open ground within the greenhouse and enough space, you could try growing your own crop of peanuts! I have never tried growing them myself but have heard that they are trouble free and will withstand a very slight frost.
