what do i plant together?

hi i have just been given loads of plants which i will be growing in containers as i only have a bit of outside space not an actual garden, up until now haven't even had that so i haven't got a clue what i can plant together. some advise would be greatly appreciated. the plants i have are
hebes
heathers
heuchera
sedum
aubretia, campanula
agapanthus
astilbe
alstromeria
montbretia
pansies, narcissus and hyacinths

Hello samwitch,

Here are my thoghts on this:

Plant the Hebes on their own, if the Campanula are low growing they could be planted in the same pots as the Hebes.
Grow the heathers on their own, they will probably require ericaceous compost.
The Sedum and Aubretia could be planted together, neither will need much watering.
Agapanthus on it's own because you might need to move it indoors during the winter (depending on the variety)
Astilbe on it's own, it will need lots of watering.
The Alstromeria and Monbretia could be planted together, both have similar requirements.
The Narcissus and Hyacinths would look nice together for some spring colour.
Pansies on their own.
Heucheras on it's own.
