A fast-growing variety that hearts up really quickly, giving a summer harvest of sweet-tasting crunchy greens with a classic pointed head. Producing compact plants which take up little space and are in and out of the garden in double-quick time 'Hispi' is an ideal choice for small gardens where space is limited.
- Growing Instructions:Can be sown successionally starting with an early sowing in February in pots or seed trays under cover. Later sowings can be made into well-prepared seed beds in shallow drills 1.5cm deep. Plant out into growing sites when plants are 15cm tall, spacing about 10cm apart. Protect from slugs and net against pigeons. Never plant cabbages into ground containing fresh manure as this encourages a mass of leaf growth with no heart.
- Sow: February-June
- Harvest: June onwards
