Hi, please could someone help with a name of a plant. My mother gave me the plant around August, September of last year and at which point it was flowering. Unfortunatley my wife threw the plant container and its contents early this year and would like to replace it. The plant had the following characteristics:
The root is like a spring onion root, slightly bulbous at the end
The plant is around 2 foot from the soil and goes straight up
The stem of the plant is around 5-10mm thick and hollow
The flowers are lily shaped and are around the size of a 10p when open
The flowers on the one I had were red
There are around a dozen flowers, 6 on each side
I can't remember exactly, but I think there wasn't many leaves on the plant.
I've checked on-line under lilies and crocosmia/ montbretia but nothing seems to look like it.
Thanks for looking and any help would be appreciated
