This woody stemmed perennial sometimes referred to as a sub-shrub spreads using rhizomes. Ceratostigma plumbaginoides has oval, bright green leaves. The leaves take on a red tint in autumn.
At the end of summer and throughout autumn, clusters of bright blue flowers are produced. Very slightly tender, if possible give Ceratostigma plumbaginoides some protection by planting it near a sunny wall.
